Welcome.

In our family since the 1800’s, Stonebrook Farm still offers an oasis of privacy in nature for the hiker, photographer, or the birdwatcher. Wooded glens, lakes, wildflowers, seas of spring bluebonnets, rocky trails, ravines, and babbling brooks will provide hours of personal solitude for our guests.

Stonebrook Farm has nearly 90 wooded acres and two large lakes that are stocked with bass and channel catfish for guests who like to fish (catch-and-release). The house lake has a fishing pier and two lakeside arbors with swings for picnics or for just sharing an evening beverage while watching the fish surface…a great way to watch a glorious Texas sunset.

About the Farm:

Stonebrook Farm is nestled in the old German farming community of Rehburg, amid the rolling hills of Texas, famous for their scenic beauty.

This is still a working farm which we share with cattle, three mules, three dogs, wild ducks, whitetail deer, and our neighbor’s flock of guineas!

Penny, Dixie, and L’il Joe will greet you at the front gate.

Built in the early 1900’s, Grandma’s old farmhouse is still in its ‘original’ form within the present walls of the newer Stonebrook Farmhouse.  After retiring from the Texas A&M community in College Station, we began renovations by moving the old house off her site while a new foundation was laid and then moving the old gal back.

During construction, we added the upstairs guest quarters for our friends who also enjoy our simple country life and an opportunity to commune with nature.

On rainy afternoons, feel free to sit and rock with us downstairs on either of our large porches and listen to the raindrops on the tin roof…

How long has it been since you’ve heard that wonderful sound?

I could have stayed on your porch and just talked.  We look forward to our future visit.  Ah … we don’t remember asking for a 7:30am wake-up call from your resident guineas, but one came all the way up the steps to do so … ah … country life! Kyra

We thoroughly enjoyed the time here.  The evenings on the porch were so relaxing … with the exception of our “resident” mockingbird, it was such a quiet, restful weekend!  We are planning an outing in the future for the Round Top Antque Fair and will take you up on the offer to be our ‘guide.’ Susan J.

Possum & Turtle,    We had a wonderful time antiquing … our first time here … and a memorable one at that.  We loved the Warrenton “prom” … looking forward to coming back.  The accommodations were absolutely perfect.  Thank you both. Janil

Your farm is so peaceful and a great place to relax.  Turtle, thanks for allowing me to join you for the morning walks.  And, Possum, thanks for the hiking adventure.  You both made my birthday weekend with my girls an event which I will always treasure.  Hopefully, we will be back soon.
